Hatsan escort or webley 810?

Well come feb time I think I'm going to be looking for a semiauto have toyed with the idea of an old "quality" gun, and really fancy a winchester 1400 that my local has in as it will match my 1200 pump very nicely!

 

However I'm a bit wary of an old semi, especially with light loads as it will get 24g put through it at times.

 

So the escort/810 look very tempting.

 

Has anyone shot both? Do either come with a hard case? Does anyone know if they will handle 24-36? I fancy the escort magnum which im sure has 3.5" chambers? But I hear it doesn't like light loads, and I will be firing light loads far more than super heavy.

 

The Webley is attractive with it's lifetime guarantee, but does anyone know how good it is? The escort is good as it is dirt cheap!

I'd hold out for a used decent gun. 24g isn't a lot to cycle a semi, especially a cheap example! A friend of mine has an escort magnum, it doesn't do under 32g

in all honesty you won't find anything that will cycles from 24g up to 3 1/2" magnum

not reliably anyway. the escort certainly won't cover such a wide range although why

do you need 31/2" mags anyway? if 3" mags won't do it your doing some thing wrong.

The webly are slightly better put together but are still made in turkey and the lifetime

warenty only holds if you get the gun serviced by w&s every year, so you pays your money

and takes your choice. I like my escort and so does the wife who shoot's very well with it and

for the money they are very good

only on the basis of having shot an escort and it was utter junk.

Hmmm it's strange because some people swear by escorts and others say they are awful, really hard to work out.

 

Certainly makes the case for that winchester 1400 stronger!
