digger Posted July 4, 2004 Report Share Posted July 4, 2004 noticed at this time of year pigeons have a horrible little flat winged louse that lives amongst the feathers.they are a ****** to squash and seem to be confined to woodies as i have never found them on crows,magpies etc.does anyone know what they are ? I had all sorts of Problems with my ornamental and racing stock when I kept them and you get to become quite and expert on identifying pests and diseases.. Ive known of a Post Office being closed by health and safety for a week because pidgeons decided to nest in the Air conditioning system and these pidgeon lice decided to drop in on the workforce..quite literally! Had to have the place fumigated and so on.... Do a google image search and ull get a nice big lab picture of one! (not for the squeamish!)
