dazza
If you had £500 to spend on a scope for a .222 what would you choose?
deadeye ive
If 80% of the shooting is Fox control in poor light conditions then make it Europeon and a fixed reticle ...Remember to allow £100 of that for the mounts mate
Dunkield
What he said. Also remember secondhand good, is better than new rubbish. 70 squid or so, should see you alright for a set of Warnes or other decent rings.
dazza
I've kept £100 aside for the mounts leaving £500 for the scope. A guy on the Airgun BBS from N Ireland is selling a Swarvo in my budget. Pity I couldn't post a link so you guys could have a look and tell me what you think. Its includes mounts and scope for £600 ono
Dunkield
Mint swarovski 6-18 X 50 for sale - That one? I have the 4-16x50 pv which is almost the same but in 30mm tube, very very nice scope. It looks mint and comes with rings etc so it looks like a bargain, having said that one sold one here (last week?) for £450 without the other bits. Try him with £550 cash
dazza
Thats the one. I offered him £550 so I'm waiting on a reply. http://www.swarovskioptik.com/index.php?c=...e=Habicht%20AV#
Dunkield
I had another thought last night Dazza, what rifle is this scope going on and what is it coming off? The fitting of the rings may be different, so you may be buying something you can't use.
dazza
I meeting him discuss it, the rings won't be any use for the Sako but he's taking them out of the price.

SAVAGE HMR
Cant go wrong with a swarovski, you could pick up a great fixed reticule for about £500 great in low light conditions.
mry716
I can probably save you a bit of money if any of these will do for you. For the new items I will take 75% of new Uk RRP and you can find the prices if you wish and for used I will sell at 50% - email me at mry716@hotmail.com if I can help. mry716
What rings would you recommend mry? I would suggest that if you intend to keep that scope on the rifle you use Ringmounts and assuming it is a 1" tube the following should fit Hillver 1†Ringmount Medium Matte black (4404N) New (RRP £41.50) which you can have for 75% of that price + P&P (or 75% of a lower RRP if you find one) If you need higher I cannot assist with ringmounts unless the rifle is stainless. If you will perhaps change scopes you wouyld be better off buying bases and rings so you only change rings when changeing scopes eg 1" to 30mm rings or Medium to high rings. If so any of these could be chosen and I can sort out some rings to suit your scope. Hillver 2 pc ext base 4055N New Hillver 2 pc base for 461,61, 579 etc 1940N New Redfield dovetail bases 512216 (2 sets) New M
