luckytrigger
I shot these friday night. It was a very misty night making for very poor visibility plenty of rats about but hard shooting as mist/fog was so thick. I left my 22lr at home and just took my .22 theoben evo which seemed to stop them well Edited January 19, 2008 by luckytrigger
salisburykeeper
They are some biggies, all the ones running around my place seem to be a lot smaller than that, they keep drowning in water butts I cant seem to lure them out into the open they are very shy. I get some nights where i shoot a lot of young ones who are out 'playing' on a huge pile of cow **** other nights just adults which are absolutely everywhere go figure? taz24
I shot these friday night. It was a very misty night making for very poor visibility plenty of rats about but hard shooting as mist/fog was so thick. I left my 22lr at home and just took my .22 theoben evo which seemed to stop them well I saw somthing very strange last Wednesday night while returning from work. I got onto the motorway, it was dry but had just stopped raining. Every ten metres or so I saw a rat forageing on the hard shoulder. I've never ever seen a rat on a motorway before but I must of seen about 25 or 30 one after the other, over a distance of about a mile. I wondered if the fields around were too wet or somthing but, I don't know, I've never seen it before. Cheers taz.

luckytrigger
I see you're keeping busy! How are the rabbits going? Plenty of rats but because the fields are so waterlogged at the moment ive not done much rabbiting so ive stuck to shooting in the farmyard.. SAVAGE HMR
Nice shooting mate, if your wanting to lure the rats out you might want to try egg shells and bacon fat. I work as a chef so I hoard lots of ****, dump it on the farm in amongst the cow ****, come back an hour later and theres loads of them running around. Seem to go mad for the stuff.
