Hi,

Im new to the forum. I have been in the background for a while but this is my first posting.

Can anyone give me some advise, Over the past few weeks i have been looking for pigeons in the areas on the NPPC maps and carnt find any, i have tried different times of day and havent seen a single pigeon feeding, i have traveled further afield to see if i can find them and not had any luck. I live in the West Yorkshire area and would be greatfull if anyone can give me any idea were i might look next.

Thanks in advance.

Hi!

If you are a member ask John which rape fields are swathed. We primarily shoot rape fields and if you had had a look before the rape was cut it is understandable that there were no pigeons.I keep an eye on a few fields and next week I hope for some very good bags.

Alison,

At the moment its very quiet for all of us due to the feeding pigeons not really interested in anything other than what they find in the woods.

The only place Ive seen them feeding is a few stubble fields but only in 5-10 flocks.

It shouldnt be too long before they are heading for the rape fields in good numbers.

Good luck and welcome to the forum.

Hiya Alison391,

Some pigeons about now for you.

Today I have been scanning a few fields on 106/100/99 and there are quite a lot of birds showing an interest in the oilseed.

I will be decoying on Saturday, first time out since I rejoined the pigeon and pest outfit, but I may have to do some more scanning if the birds are not where I think they will be!!

That's all for now.

Cheers, Jimmy
