alexm
I have a good bit of land for zeroing on my stalking ground but it's 2.5 hrs from home and my local permissions wouldn't be too happy about lots of bangs due to livestock. Where does everyone do their zeroing/practice with their stalking rifles? Assuming I can find a local full bore range for 100yds, will I be allowed to zero/practice with expanding ammo or is that a no-no? I think the nearest full bore range to me is Yoxter and its a military one. Anyone know the rules regarding expanding ammo on military ranges? David BASC
I know many Military ranges (if not all) are being run by a 'third party' these days - the name escapes me. I recall that the range near me used not to allow expanding ammo, but since the change I am not so sure. I guess it will depend on the range- just check with the RCO. Alternatively, check our www.goshooting.org.uk on the Find page is a list of rifle clubs in a pdf booklet called Shooting Club Directory, there may be another club near you. Big_Sam
Check your FAC wording, it should allow you to use expanding ammo on a range.

deadeye ive
You can zero your rifle on any range with expanding ammo providing the wording is correct on your ticket .....You can't enter into a target shooting comp using expanding ammo though,it has to be solid . My ticket states zeroing on land where I have permission and any range's .
