Hi Guys and gals!

Just got back from a five hour stint in the field.

Hide was excellent!

Rotary was working just fine!

Deeks were laid out as usual!

NOT ONE PIGEON KILLED!!!!!!

The few pij that came near to the deeks can consider themselves charmed that I could not hit a barn boor with a blunderbus today. The other thirty or so that seemed to be committing to the deeks, veered away before getting into shooting distance.

Should have gone shopping with the missus in Reading instead. She spent £350. I could have stopped her!!!!!!

Now where did I leave those golf clubs?

Hi Apbuild,

You should have tried a different approach went out shooting today, if the first birds that come in turn and run then ask yourself why that is.

Always look at changing the picture of decoys to suit the birds, you should have started by removing the whirly, I know they cost money but sometimes they are not attractors.

If it not that then tweak with the shell pattern, if you ever fish you will know that if the fish are not biting then you alter the baits or the depth, maybe the shot pattern and this is similar to all types of hunting fishing.

We adjust what trap we set to make the birds think there is no threat to them.

I found the other day I left plastic decoys in my pattern and started to add dead birds, as soon as I did this a few birds started to turn, removed the dead and I was back on track.

For what time it takes to have a change it can be well worth the chew on.

Happy woody shooting

The PM
