gdunc
Since everyone seems to have variations of commands and whistles in use I thought i'd post this clip of some training with our pup. I am using the long range memory retreive to introduce the 'right back' command to encourage her to get farther out - eventually to find a blind item. In this case I hupped her, threw the ball into light cover then walked her about 100yds then hupped her again before sending her out. I use 'get out' to send and 'there' to hunt close when near the item. I use quick set of 3 double peeps for recall as you'll hear in the clip. This may be of some use to beginners so here goes.... gdunc
Thanks guys I'm lucky that I have an attentive pupil! I first introduced the memory retrieve using a thrown dummy along a hedgerow to make her take a direct route to it and to help me introduce the left or right directional command of 'on'. Now that we've got that one established I'm making a it a bit more challenging for her using longer distances and more random throws. Spaniels are great fun to train, if a little frustrating sometimes
