dazbrit
Just need a bit of advice, i have the chance of buying a beretta 686 in immaculate condition, the seller rates the gun at 9.5 out of ten. It's multi choke and the chokes are mobile chokes?. This is where i need some help. What exactly are mobile chokes, and will the gun be good enough for clays and game shooting. In my opinion it seems like a bargain and he only wants 550 quid for it. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Chard
Mobil chokes are just a type of Beretta internal choke, i.e. not "extended" chokes that stick out of the end of the barrels. They screw in and end up flush with the end of the barrel, so they need a special key to unscrew them again. 686 is a good gun, and nothing wrong with mobil chokes. Price sounds OK if the gun is as good as he says it is. My first shotgun, which I used for clays, was a second hand 686 and I paid £675 for it. Should be OK as an all-rounder, mine was. For perfection it would depend whether it's a sporting, trap or game gun, blah, blah, blah
gadgit
If its good............offer him £500 and bite his hand off!! you can not go wrong with that provided you take someone along with you to have a look over it. Dragons can be shot all day with that!!!!! Edited February 8, 2008 by gadgit
