Toby
right, im new but i thought id start a thread for good places to get gear from, cheap, good quality and good service.. (sorry if this has been done before or if people think its stupid) So heres the first two... www.uttings.com - they have pretty good prices, a wide range of stuff and when my mum ordered my hunter wellies they turned up the next day! however whilst on holiday in cornwall and walking on the beach I noticed that the left heel was leaking - not there faul i know but when my mum rings up about it tomorrow we will see in more depth what there service is like! www.sportsmanguncentre.co.uk - i saw the advert in 'shooting times' and although i havent ordered anything, the prices are VERY low! for instance theyve got a 'Deerhunter Game Jacket' reduced to £30 from £130!! - anyone got any experience of their service? Cheers guys, if you think its worth donating websites to then please do - if not then im sorry and i wont do anything of the kind again! Baldrick
Sportsman acts as a wholesaler to the gun trade. It can afford to offer knock-down prices, but don't assume that every item is carried in stock. It's not. In fact, you may have to wait months for a piece of kit from them. They are also alleged to sell 'grey import' rifles. I prefer to buy all my stuff from a gunsmith who talks directly to the distributor. A Sick Old Man
Balders is right, the Sportsmans, Optics Warehouse and I guess many other of these cheap warehouse type cheap retailers do import there stock from abroad, I can not say that ALL there stuff is grey, you pay your money you take your chance. I would tread very carefully, Chris
