Cosd
I want to say a massive thank you to Terry (Tel_Time) who kindly invited me to a day shooting on one of his permissions. He also invited another newbie, Damien, from the forum as well as a very experienced shooting buddy of his called Andy. We paired up and I set up with Andy. He was very willing to pass on some of his 20 odd years of knowledge and I was a 42 year old school boy listening to every word. To be fair Terry did warn that he didn't think it was going to be a great day, making it even more generous of him and Andy spending a day with two newbies with not to gain in the way of shooting themselves. Damien from what I understand was on his second game shooting trip with 4 years clay experience and my sixth time game shooting with some clay experience. After about an hour or so of being there, two woodies decoyed in lovely, 35 yards out and quite high coming in right to left I nervously said to Andy they're yours. Calmly he said 'I'll tell you when to get up'. He gave me the nod, I stood up and shot it down clean dead. A pat on the back from Andy and a stupid grin on my face I couldn't control. Later on we split up and Andy chose me a spot about 50 yards away from him in front of some woods. I saw a woodie coming straight at me but was a good 35 40 yards up. I gave it one barrel. For a moment its wings folded and I thought I'd hit it. Just as I thought it was going to land on my head, the wings spread and he went past the trees and into the wood. I was gutted as I was almost certain I hit it. A few minutes later Andy came over to check all was ok and he said 'that was a cracking shot'. He saw it fall behind me! I took another high shot at a crow just as it was about to vanish over my head and behind the trees, it fluttered, I lost site of it but didn't think I hit it. Later Terry told me that Andy had said I got two cracking high shots by the wood and bought down a woodie and a crow that fell in the wood. So today I had by far my best two shots since starting shooting in the way of difficulty on the woodies, one crow that I didn't think I hit, and learned so much from Terry and Andy. Now I'm hooked even more. Thanks Terry Thanks Andy  Good to meet you Damien :D :good: Edited February 25, 2008 by Cosd

triscrx
2 top quality shots are better than lots of alright shots. Nothing better than hitting a pigeon square on and watching it fold up and hit the deck with a satisfying thud. Well done matey keep up the good work.
