harryhawk
Only heard the news today. Hedley Millington owner of the famous Nancarrow Kennels in Cornwall England passed away on Sunday 24th February 2008. Hedley was an accomplished field trial trainer, handler and an A Panel Judge for Spaniels. He had owned and operated Nancarrow Gundogs for 34 years. Before this Mr Millington was the Headkeeper for Lord Falmouth on the Tregothnan Estate in Cornwall. During his tenure he transformed a family shoot of 30 Pheasants a day to one of the premier shoots in the West Country. His Nancarrow bred Cockers have been the foundation for many of the Cockers in the UK today. He made up to Field Trial Champion status 10 English Cockers and 2 English Springer Spaniels, his most recent accomplishment was breeder of the 1994 British National Champion, FTCH Nancarrow Carousel. A true gent, always welcome if i was passing that way, tea and biscuits and a friendly chat around the kitchen table. Hedley will truly be missed (with both barrels) but his spirit will live on in his Cocker legacy. Harry
Deako
A sad day indeed. I bought my very first gundog from him, the bravest springer I have ever seen, Nancarrow Ballam (but we just called him Ballie) I had to have him put down at 17 years of age, but have just looked at the photos of him at the back of Hedley's house when he was just an hour old and I fell in love with him and said "that one there" Hope you have a good rest upstairs Hedley and give Ballie a hug and a kiss from me and my little lad Connor who loved him with all his heart.
