monkeyjaimz
Got a phone call at work a couple of weeks ago from my gaffer, "have you seen that guy walking around the grounds with a camera?" he asks. Here's me thinking he wants me to go tell this guy to sling his hook or something, and I was out running errands at the time anyway so I replied "no" and explained why. He says "well, he's got a serious rabbit problem needs sorting and I told him you're the man to do it, so if you want to see him hurry up as he's leaving now" Needless to say I was back at work rather sharpish just in time to pass this gentleman on the driveway, introduce myself and have a quick chat etc. turns out he runs a syndicate and the farmer that owns the land is plagued by rabbits - needs sorting out So he gave me his card and the farmers number so that I could give him a call etc. I spoke to the farmer later on in the day and arranged to go and meet him on the land etc only for the appointment to be cancelled as he was way busy - fair enough. I didnt want to pester the guy so left it a week or so then phoned the syndicate chap and left a message asking if he still needed my bunny culling services etc. and left it alone again. Then finally a result, phone call from the farmer asking if I wanted to come over after work and have a look around etc - can you guess what I said? Apparantly he's had people around in the past but they didnt cut it and didnt pay enough visits. All went well, introduced myself, gave him a couple of my cards etc. and in return I got a permission in excess of 500 acres of grass fields, sandy fields, hedgerows, big ponds all crawling with coneys! He even gave me an OS map of his land and marked the areas to concentrate on 1st! To say im chuffed to bits is a total understatement! Roll on the lighter nights and longer days I say! Moral to the story is: Patience is a virtue Edited February 29, 2008 by monkeyjaimz
