Spaniel
If you want a dog for rough shooting, then get a Springer, if you want a dog for picking up get a Lab. Thats MHO. And if by magic look at the Buy/Sell Section my FIL as 1 Springer Dog still available Cheers Ian

Cushat
hi all im looking to get a dog any ideas for the best breed to put game up and retrive them cheers all jim If you know that little about dogs and breeds then you're not ready to own one. Sorry - harsh but true. It's not like popping down to the gun shop and buying a new gun.
dustyfox
:o You have to put in a lot of time for the training or money to get him/her trained. You cant just get one and expect it to do everything you want it to. If you are really looking for your first dog though go for the Labrador.
