The Great Cornholio
I'm looking at a Shogun 2800 diesel, 105k on the clock, on an R plate. I've read on these forums the head gasket goes at 100k is this common or just unlucky? Anything else I need to know?
tweedledee
my dad has used shoguns over 20 years now and never had any head gasket problems or any other mechanical failure. he gives them daily abuse on the farm, hence why he buys them. he swears by them, especially the 2.8 models, the newer models have some issues but the older models are great wagons

charadam
Only problem I have with mine ('98, SWB, 2.8) - is filling the tank at £70 squid a shot! Keep your eye on the crankshaft pulley, the rubber bond fails and the pulley runs eccentric and throws the belts. Got mine in time before it wore the crankcase, but it cost me a new cooling fan (as well as the pulley). The pulley was £70 from a factor but the Mitsu price was nearly £200! All in all, however, the best 4x4 by far!
Pirate
Hi Cornholio: I have driven Mitsubishi's for around 8 years now, and am now on my 2nd Pajero. In all that time, other than servicing, I've had minimal repairs. Not bad considering the one I have now is 12 years old! They don't do 30 mpg, as they do weigh a bit.
