dcliff
Depends on the grandness of the trip, and if I have access to any dead birds or not. Although as a fail safe I have a 'lightweight' kit consisting of 6 shell deeks (a net and some neck sticks). A few times, I've started with nothing, not even a net, and ended up with about 25ish - a great day's shooting never the less!
anser2
Depends on what crop you are shooting over and the visibility of the decoys against it . On drillings I often use just a dozen shells. On rape i may use 30 shell\rubber HH decoys ( with silosocks on ) , 2 bouncers , magnet , and 2 lofters for starters and add dead birds as I shoot them. Have ended up with 60-70 decoy\dead birds sometimes. Edited April 4, 2008 by anser2
maxwell
I use half a dozen full bodied deeks on spring sticks and two home made floaters, then add dead birds to the pattern as and when, cheers Maxwell.
