Shotgun Mike
Are they any good performance wise and value for money? Thanks, Mike
The Sniper
Shotgun Mike, I bought one, second hand ( no comments Ern :yp: ) last year and it was a pig for jamming. So I took it to my gunsmith and he cleaned it and showed me how to strip it down. Since then it is faultless. Plus I can hit things with it so it does for me. As regards value for money, I paid £150 for it. It has some knocks but when I use it in the hide I am not too bothered about its appearance. If you do a search on here and put in Winchester, plus filter by my username under all forums, you will see these guns have been discussed before. (For some reason the search won't let you include Winchester+1400 ) Hope this helps.
ernyha
As regards value for money, I paid £150 for it. On 3 years interest free credit with a 5 year warranty? Sorry Sniper but i thought it only right to tell the full story. :yp:
neil
Only 3 years sniper, have you gone mad. I thought you would have taken out a 25 year endowment policy with a lump sum back at the end :yp:
The Sniper
Ern, How did I know I'd get a bite ?? :yp: Neil, I tried to leave them a brace of mallard as a DOWN payment but they wouldn't have it
Salopian
Sniper , Any more DOWN puns & you will be up before the Beak Win 1400 I have one, very good value, good gun. A friend of mine had one didn't clean it at all so it occasionally jammed or failed to cycle the odd cartridge, having a very low patience threshold he decided to deliberately break it and claim on his insurance.Place gun on house brick drive over it = split stock.Insurance paid out no quibble, he gives me gun for free,I repair stock = I have 2 Winchester 1400.Mate buys Rem 11-87 new it breaks about once a month + 3 trips to Hull who were the importers = really fed up mate especially as I have totally refurbed his old Win & he sees it every week never missing a beat.
