_Spud_
Hey all, I have been having problems with my Lanber for a few weeks now, when I fire the bottom barrel and then the top barrel it will not always move over to the top barrel. If however I fire the top first, then the bottom it will always work, I have tried all types of carriage from my normal Hull Comp X 28g to 32G game loads and it will do it on all. The problem is intermittent, but very annoying when you are in a competition. I make sure that I take my finger off the trigger completely between shots so it’s not that. I have sent it into the shop I purchased it from, and they had a look and said they cant find a problem, but I took it out and had the problem straight away, and another bloke I was with tried it and he had the same problems. I am wondering if anyone else has had these problems, or knows what’s going on as the gun shop is not very helpful, I am close to asking for a new gun or my money back. Thanks all. Cranfield
I have had this malfunction with a Lanber Field and a Beretta Silver Pigeon. The main problem is that it is intermittent, which suggests that nothing is "broken" in the mechanism. Another test is to dry fire the front barrel, then tap the butt on the ground, or slap the end hard (duplicating the recoil from the first barrel) and see if the second barrel then fires. It was explained to me that if nothing is broken, then it can be that you think you are releasing the trigger fully, but you are not. It can also occur if you wear thicker clothing, thereby reducing the recoil impact which is needed to switch over the barrels. I eventually took my guns to a Gunsmith, explained the problem and he could find nothing broken, but he cleaned the mechanism and the problem went away. He also advised me that I probably wasn't releasing the trigger fully between shots. :(
tartinjock
Hello, I just had my Lanber repaired, the barrel selector/safety catch cam off in my hand on operation, this is a common fault apparently, once it happened, it would not fire on the first pull of the trigger on either barrel. The spring had come off internally. I got it replaced under warrenty.Worth speaking to your dealer and getting it looked at under warrenty...
