casts_by_fly
HI Paul, After rereading my certificate it does seem like expanding missiles are covered as of course are loaded cartridges of any type. I'll confirm with the FEO on monday, but I think I already know what he's going to say. Looks like I need to shoot a few off before I go home so that I can bring a few more back. I've got a possess 500 restriction so I can still pick up a few boxes. Thanks Rick

Thanks Rick Ask to have your holding increased, explain that it is cheaper to buy bullets by the 500 lot, this is usually accepted as good reason to hold more. It's not a variation either, so it's free.
DaveK
I put in to up mine at renewal. It took a demand to the feo to record that if his boss would put it in writing that expanding missiles did not count towards my allocation, that his boss upped my allocation. Is amazing how powerful the calling of ones bluff can be.

At the moment I have ~50 loaded and another 2+ boxes of heads. I haven't had time to really do any load work on that gun, so it has sat back while I shoot the HMR. I just figured I'd stock up since I was going back anyway. I'll be bringing back more HMR ammo since I'm down to my last 2 boxes. When I put my variation in I'll ask to up my 223 holdings. Thanks, Rick
casts_by_fly
Expanding bullets do in fact count. I have confirmed with my firearms office. Didn't ask about non expanding as I have no use for them. Thanks, Rick
InGen
OK then the official word Thank you for your enquiry. In brief, expanding bullet heads DO count towards your permitted total for ammunition possessed, however solid bullet heads would not. With regard to your 2000 round limit, you could buy more bullet heads than this providing they were "solid" however once assembled into a full round they would count towards your total. Hope this is of assistance to you. Regards Simon Thompson Pc 4068 CO
