Paul223
Graham M is the man to speak too pm him if he has not seen this post in a day or two >>>I know it's really a waste of money, but I've had it nearly 15 years and plan to take it with me when I go, so I wouldn't mind spending a bit to get it looking perfect.<<< It's not a waste of money but more 'time well spent'
polski
If you want a high-gloss finish use tru-oil. Rick.
Si-Bore
If you want a high-gloss finish use tru-oil. Rick. I agree - its very glossy. I did my number 4 with it but I prefer satin/matt finishes on my SG's. Si
bob300w
Your B2G probably has an oiled stock, it's a ***** to remove. I would go for an oil based finish, there is less chance of a reaction with the oil. Have you thought about French polish? It's fairly easy to apply yourself, buy a bottle, get the instructions on the net, and practice on a scrap piece of wood. It's also very easy to repair any damage that may occur, it's not the high gloss that you would get with varnish, but it does bring out the wood better.
