Baldrick
I saw the footage on BBC Breakfast this morning. Pretty bland - certainly didn't mention the often unpleasant treatment that landowners and keepers receive from deer poachers.
ferretman
i can under stand were thay are coming from but not all pochers have illegal guns and cars. when i was a kid i use to go out with my sling shot and have a rabbit or somthing.i am not saying i am a pocher as i am not. and i am not saying it is right to do so.but i am saying not all of them are as bad as the bbc makes out.kind regards and have a nice day.fm
Harnser
I wonder what punishments magistrates whould hand out in this country for poaching .Proberbly a slap on the wrist and give the poacher 50 quid to buy meat at tescos . In comparison this happend to two poachers in oregan in the states . And i quote = Two oregan men lost their hunting privileges for life and were fined a combined $ 18,000 for a long list of violations involving illegally obtained tags . In october ,2005 ,trooper luke schwartz of st. helens recieved information that norman burger and delbert thompson. both of scappoose, were taking more deer and elk than lawfully allowed . The informant said the two were using falce names to obtain additional tags for deer and elk . The artical goes on to say that a number of rifles and shot guns were confiscated buy state troopers and a 4x4 pickup owned by one of the offenders was also confiscated .This was for a first offence . I wouldnt want to caught for a second offence . It proberbly sounds harsh by our standards but in my opinion justified . Harnser .
