bigt1754
I've decided to get a couple of ferrets and would very much welcome opinions as to wether I should get a couple from a rescue as I'm keen to give unwanted animals a home, or get kits from the start. if kits are the overwelming option, where should I start looking? Is it a case of posting on a forum?? I've done some basic research [housing, feeding etc,] but you cant beat first hand knowledge, so is there anyhting that i should look out for when selecting a kit? Oh and I haven't seen what sort of price I should pay [would hate to get stung] Many thanks for any help T
Ferret Master
Two of my jills are rescues. They were £20 each and both adults, speyed and microchipped. They are very good workers and pets. FM
stevematthews79
I rescued an albino and a silver. Albino was useless as hunting but friendly so I gave her to my daughter as a pet, however the silver was a great little worker and still friedly enough. Its great fun when you get into it. Good luck with it!
bigt1754
Thanks..... So is it a matter of luck if they are good workers or not?
stevematthews79
Haven't had enough ferrets to answer that fairly, would be better advice from a more experienced ferreter. I got mine for free off someone that used to mate his ferretsand then give them away rather than spay his jill. I'd advise spaying them rather than having to breed them every year as rehoming 8 ferrets can be rather difficult and then can become an ethical decision as what to do with them.
