PaulABF
Alright guys? I'm a lover of sloe gin but never made my own. All the sloe gin I've drank has been made by others with fresh berries. I don't want to wait until the winter to pick berries, so my question is - Has anyone made sloe gin with dried berries and if so, how does it compare to the fresh stuff? Thanks
henry d
I know it`s not the same, however I did make wine with dried sloes and it was very tasty indeed. If you don`t want to waste the gin try a small amount first 1/2 pint or so ?
taggy
i still have some in the freezer from the last harvest. that seems the way to do it. pick more than you need at the time.

Same here. 3 Litres sat waiting to come of age and a couple of bags of berries in the freezer. The advice is no use to you at this time of the year but when the time comes, pick plenty.
