Whimple Hunter
there are alot of questions about ratting and have got a brilliant way of bolting the critters and extremeley cheaply? i have ferrets i could use but i find it just as gd to instead of using an old chainsaw go to tesco or any supermaket and get 2-3 cans of really cheap deodrant.70 - 80p a can. works as well as the chainsaw... try it! Ice
Add a Zippo to the solution and problem solved a lot quicker
salisburykeeper
I tried it but unfortunatley it didnt work but at least the rats smell nice now!
bob300w
Fireworks work well, the coloured ones that make plenty of smoke, and it's more fun! Not reccommended in strawstacks though.

Penbwlch
I've just had a great time ratting. My wife spotted some in the barn. I went out with my dogs and an air rifle. Sum total killed was eight. A border collie killed one, the Jack Russell killed three on his own, I shot three, and one was a joint effort (I shot it off a beam and the JR killed it). You can't beat a bit of team work. The hardest bit was calming the JR down afterwards.

B) Jack russel's are the ultimate terrior in my opinion, great around the family and the killer instinct whilst hunting is unbeatable

blacta
wats the knack just spray it down? another great way you will all love is: get lots of pieces of old newspaper, roll them up, soak the ends in petrol and shove down the holes at dusk, leave a couple of holes open and put lots of corregated iron out for the rats to hide under they cant stand the fumes and will rather sleep outside! caught and shot a good few last time we had some by chickens! give it a go!!! blacta
