A day out to Historic Leeds Castle

Well, what a busy day I have had. On the way to buying the new shooting wagon LV and myself passed historic Leeds Castle - as confusing as it maybe that's in Kent (for Welsh boys :hmm: ).

Well, we couldn't drive past a historic site without trying out our metal detecting skills. Unfortunately neither I nor LV possess a metal detector nor did we have any intention of purchasing one less our wives divorce us and our friends leave us.

But hang on, LV remembered that nugget of gold from You Tube, the "DIY Metal detector" using an FM radio and a calculator, however, we were immediately faced with the problem that we were lacking both the portable FM radio and the calculator.

So, we thought I should give it a go with my shoe and a mobile phone.

Alas, the results were somewhat disappointing, probably much the same as had we actually wasted money on proper metal detecting equipment and risked the loss of friends and loved ones - it was probably a blessing in disguise!

Next we saw something that would have interested the Suffolk boys.

Well, we are broad minded and know that in this modern day and age we should just live and let live, but the overt advertisement of such a "tournament" emblazoned on a massive sign on a main road where it might be seen by women and children was frankly appalling. Also we were shocked to think that that sort of "carry on" normally limited to the County of Suffolk had now spread to the County of Kent and were bemused to see that there was some sort of competitive element to it now. Disgusting really.

This made us feel very uneasy about being out of Essex and on foreign soil.

We have vowed never to return to Kent, tis a silly place.

Aw shucks :hmm: you say the nicest things.

I would add that I was sporting my 34" waist £3 Tesco jeans (some reduction from the book in waist measurement of a whopping 52"). Next weigh in tomorrow, but I am finding that I am falling off the wagon at weekends now - will see if there has been any damage tomorrow.
