Are you checking it against your old weighing system???
steveb
left on for a good 20mins before, and all checked against rcbs balance beam.
sussex lad
How you getting on with it Steve??? Just a thought, your not calibrating it with the powder pan on are you? It just happens to weigh 1.5 grains
steveb
Not got the powder pan on. The balance beam i am using is the rcbs 5-0-5 (think)and it's powder pan weighs as you say 1.5grains which i think could be the problem. However i have found at work that the chemist lad has a set of scales that go to about 5 decimal points and are calibrated every year so will bring the chargemaster in and check against these ones. fingers crossed problem solved

steveb
Had the chargemaster at work today, left it on for a good hour to warm up, calibrated then started a few tests against the calibrated scales. 20 grain = 1.3 Grams RCBS > Calibrated scales 1.3 > 1.2972 1.3 > 1.2962 1.3 > 1.2947 1.29 > 1.2909 1.29 > 1.2964 24.7 Grain = 1.6 Grams RCBS > Calibrated Scale 1.6 > 1.5977 1.61 > 1.6085 1.6 > 1.5971 1.6 > 1.6021 1.6 > 1.5980 Next forgot to change back from grams to grain so started to throw some 2 Gram weights 2 Gram RCBS > Calibrated Scale 2 > 2.0028 2 > 2.0044 2 > 1.9997 2 > 2.0002 2 > 1.9917 This stage thought i was being a bit paranoid so have now got the conclusion that it is a fantastic bit of kit and now to start reloading. Just need to wait till i get into the new house in about a months time. Cheers for all the help and advice. steve Edited May 28, 2008 by steveb
