Tiff-TRG
Is anyone shooting this caliber for deer or range work? Looking for a reamer for my latest project.......
Tiff-TRG
Guessing by the replies no ones using one then? Any other RUM shooters out there?
casts_by_fly
not me. I almost bought a savage in 300 RUM to have the action on it, but money was tight and I don't need an action right now. I'd think an edge would be a bit much over here for anything but big reds or boar. I think they are also over the latest energy requirement for target work. I think you might have to rent a reamer from the states for this one. Thanks Rick
casts_by_fly
also try the savage shooters forum. More than a few guys have RUM based actions and have made the edge switch. thanks rick
Tiff-TRG
Thanks for the replies guys. I'm a regular on the US sites, but was hoping there would be someone over here with a reamer. I've decided to change the project and now get another spare barrel for my .300 RUM, a Pac-Nor 1-7 twist 40" tube to shoot the LM-103 bullets that have an amazing 1.040BC!!!! As for ranges the .300RUM (with standard bullets) can still be shot on standard gallery ranges like Bisley, provided the RCO has a higher muzzle energy certificate....more red tape. Its an excellent caliber for deer at longer ranges and of course it can be downloaded for foxes etc.
