reedbradshaw
which one would you go for ? Benilli 121 3 shot semi, fixed choke @ £200.00 SH or Hatsan Escost 3 shot semi SH 2 months old, multi choke @ £220.00 appologies i cannot give barrel sizes etc but all guns are 12 guage Im just waiting for my SGC to come through and starting to look at different guns. im after a 3 shot semi auto, not fussed about wooden stock, not fussed about multi chokes, within my budget of £300.00 will consider SH guns the gun will be used mainly for rough shooting on a twice weekly and occasionaly for clay shoots ( probably twice a year ! ) what can you all recommend ? i do like the idea of the hatsan as it seems durable due to the synthetic stock. 2shots
you can buy the hatsan auto for around £285 new which includes a 3 Year guarantee, synthetic stock etc etc, Theres one thats now belonged to six different people in our club myself included and keeps doing the rounds, it has probably never been cleaned shot thousands of cartridges, including heavy game loads, and never been a problem. Sorry its had a new rubber seal put in that cost 89 pence, I have just put my name on it again for 2 days goose shooting later on in the year, We joke about it but it never fails, and I get wrong when it comes back cos I clean it up, last time I owned it it was good as new after a good clean, last I heard the current owner and his son took it wildfowling up silloth and used it as a walking stick to get out of the mud, never been cleaned since and still works.Itll probably have 3 or 4 careful (not) owners before I see it again as I know its booked for a trip to france and a trip to ireland by different people.Totally abused but still alive. reedbradshaw
The hatsan it is i rang the country man of derby up and he wanted £299.00 for a brand new escort. but the one which is 2 months old seems ok to me at £220.00 + its multi choke and really does look brand new!...i wasnt really bothered about a multi choke due to the extra cost but at £220.00 it a good price. the benilli i was looking at is in the for sale section and is a v. nice looking gun! only problem is i have to wait around 4-5 weeks before i can even send my SGC off! ( long story, im keeping my gun in a friends cabinet who is in the process of renewing his SGC !! gutted!! ) so obviously dont wanna keep the guy whos selling the benilli waiting a friend at work tells me the escort is based on a berreta ?? he has one and seems to think so. Are you still getting a guarantee ? and We heard the same that they are a 301 beretta made in turkey to the same pattern. We literally have tried to destroy this gun and now its a standing joke amongst us,so is the price nobody can give less than £150 for it,and were taking bets who it conks out on,Sad really but I suppose hatsan might want it as a crash test dummy in the end, unless I keep it and retire it,
