GBS
I have two English Guns for sale, a Beesley Sidelock and a John Wilkes best boxlock. The Beesley was made in 1913. It has 27 inch barrels and 15 inch LOP including extension. The action still retains a lot of its original colour hardening and the beautifully engraved. The chequering is in very good condition however the stock could do with being refinished to complement the quality of the gun. It is in a good condition canvas and leather case, (by Henry Atkin I think). The Wilkes is a 1920 gun with 30' barrels and a 14 3/4 inch LOP. It is in 'very original' condition and has recently been re-proofed. Again this gun could do with the stock refinishing and it needs the chequering to be recut as it is currently very worn. The engraving on this gun is superb, it is very much a 'best boxlock' with london style roses etc. I am looking for £2700 for the Beesley and £800 for the Wilkes but am open to offers. I am offering these guns in their current condition to PW members first. If they do not sell I will get them refurbished and advertise them on commercial websites such as guntrader. Thank you for looking, George

springerman
George I should like more information about the Beesley. I am new to the forum and do not know the usual procedure, but if you can e-mail me a contact telephone number, I can discuss with you direct. Thanks Peter

GBS
What are the chamber lengths and chokes of both guns? Also are either ejectors? Hi Bob, The Beesley is 2 1/2" and I think the Wilkes is the same but I will check. Also, I will have to check the chokes. They are both ejectors. Sorry for the late reply, have been away and failed to check this post when I got back.
