honda chris
fao inspection today. some help please guys -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- hi i had my inspection from my fao this afternoon, im not going to go into every little detail. but not impressed. firstly i applied for an open ticket on my .22s reason is because i shoot with lots of different people on there land (i tend to use a shotgun) he is telling me they wont grant an open ticket unless i have at least one piece of land named on my licence. is this correct? i cant have 2 bp pistols because i dont have good reason please one is not enough. and this is the one that is annoying me, i would like to have a go at practical shotgun he is telling me that they will not grant me an fac shotgun as im not a member of the ukpsa and i have to complete the safety course before i can be a member i have spoken to the ukpsa and i can just apply for membership i dont need to complete there course, they dont even know when there next course is as i have asked. im not bothered about competing in ukpsa run comp.s as there seems to be a number of other comp.s that don't require the safety course or membership. just seems like money for old rope my home club is a member of the ukpsa but i dont think that it means much. is all that he has told me correct? what with club fees nra fees and basc it all adds up thanks regards chris
2shots
normally for an open ticket you need your own land or permission letters for the land you shoot with your mates. For the BP revolvers 2 of the same caliber wouldnt be granted up here northumbria but a 45 and 36 would be okay, daft I know but they dont want billy the kid with matching revolvers. both with the excuse for target shooting at your local club should be okay. For a FAC shotgun up here you would need to prove good reason i/e licensed vermin controller with land permission gamekeeper and similar, members of ukpsa qualify due to the land available to them,so do practical shotgun guys with a purpose for it.Some landowners qualify due to massive problems with winged vermin,as do people with thier permission on thier land. hope this helps.
