mr lee
Been trying to get shooting permission on a local golf course for a while now and kept getting fobbed off by lame excuses of 'you need to speak to person X..' or 'sorry he isn't available right now..' Anyway, had a missed call on my phone from a mobile number so just rang it back and it was the head greenkeeper asking if I was still interested in controlling the greens and fairways as poison and other means were not working. Trying not to jump down the phone with excitement told him yes. B) :( Going up later this afternoon to have a 'wander' round with this bloke on a golf kart so he can show me where the main problems are. He has said it is absolutely teaming with rabbits and squirrells at the minute and how soon can I get started. 'Errrr....later this evening once the course is closed to the customers.'. I asked him if we would be able to use a kart to go round on as it would enable us to cover a greater area and hopefully rid them of more rabbits in a quicker space of time. His reply? 'Excellent idea, never thought of that, I will make sure there is one available and fully charged up at all times for you both..' Can't wait now. I feel like a kid in a sweetie shop. They had it cleared for rimmie a while back as he is a target shooter but just can't commit more hours to work and isn't a fan of shooting animals, prefers card. Biggest bonus is it is only 3 minutes from my house in the car. :o
Ice
Excellent, shouldnt be too much trouble to get a decent bag, as the rabits will be used to human encounters. Good luck and a nice write up would be cool
allthegearandnoidea
Is it safe to eat rabbits froma glf course with the amount of stuf they spray about to make it look nice? I heard a story (which I think is true) that a guy who always kissed his ball before teeing off lost both of his legs because of what they were spraying. Most of the rabbits we have taken off farms which get sprayed normally get fed to the dogs. Keep them on a real meat diet where ever possible. They are still alive and kicking.
