ProteuS
hi i was just wanting to know if anyone knows that the markings on my gun mean, it is a bettinsoli on it there is cam.70 -i presume this is the bore diameter each barrel has 18,3 on it i wondered if this means it has a 3" chamber also marked on it are KCI 540 A.B.T. *PSF *FINITO and AH any help much appreciated
dodeer
no ,it s a 70mm chamber( 23/4 inch). Do not fire high performance steel or any 3" carts through it. Normally 70mm chambers are only proved to take 36g loads. If you want to fire steel through it use 28g or 32g and 1/2 choke or less.
rb5037
The finishing mark proofing FINITO is that of Gardone & Brescia of Italy

ProteuS
thanks for all the replies, i had suspected it was a 23/4, all i've put through it so far is 28g 7 1/2 stuff for clays, was just wondering what it would take as theres a fox causing a bit of trouble about, regards
Hammergun
18.3 is the bore size in milimetres. "Cam 70" is 70mm chamber (2 3/4 inch). "PSF" under a "*" and "Finito" under a "*" indicate definitive proof (i.e. proof after the shotgun was made). PSF stands for "Polvere Sensa Fumo" (Smokeless powders). "KCI 540" is probably "KC 15,40" which I expect is the choke internal diameter (15.4 mm). (or perhaps alternatively "kg 1540" to indicate proof pressure) If your gun was Magnum proof, this would be indicated by "PSF" under two "*"s, with "Cam 76." (3 inch)
