lightforce

i have a variable lightforce 170,when i use it in the car it overheats the spring and the loses the connection.when i use it of a battery its ok.Has any one else had thi problem?? if so how do you stop it happening.have tryed different connectors but it still happens?:angry:?

Yep, I had this problem also, I changed the connector to a 10amp two pin plug, (The type fitted to lawn mowers) and ran a fused twin wire from the battery to the inside of the motor, fitted a matching socket on the end and no problem since.

That problem has driven me nuts too - the solution which works great was to convert to DIN connections (rated at 16 odd whatever it is !)

 

Where the cigar socket used to pull out easy too, that also got fixed. So glad I made the switch. Only thing is if you go in another vehicle take extra batteries as you can't use their standard socket
