MM
right. ive got my snares, all i need now is the knowledge! i cant ask anybody local, as i dont know of anyone who uses them, but my plan is this. there are plenty of runs, so what i need to know is the best methods for pegging them down, and the best hight to set them at. im going to set them as i arrive, and collect them when i finish. i dont want to leave them overnight, as i might not be able to get back to check them and woulndt want a bunnie to be stuck in one for longer than needed. radio1ham
well long time ago when i used to use snares for rabbits i used to set them usiing the hieght of my hand as a guide to keep them above the ground tie them to fence etc then with a bit of stick with a slot cut in one end to support the snare pushed lightly into the ground then using your hand making a fist rest the snare on the top of your forfinger when little finger on ground and that should be around the right height for setting the snare

thomasbeaton
what i do but this is for fox is i look for run, be for i touch the snares i rub my hands with load of grass to get rid of any scents. attach it to a log through a fence because i think its illegle to set snares to a fence, stop ect. i use fence wire in the ground place the snare wire before the loop on to position it and set it abot the size of my hand from the ground, this always works for me and if i get any dead birds i place them in the run to lure them in, nut this is for fox, hope this helps m8t, thomas
