blacta
on my Logun Pentetrator pellets it says 9.5gr and on my BSA Elite it says 7.87 grain? its .177 wondering if bigger grain made the pellet better? also should you go for a lighter pellet or heavier one in .177? i found heavier drops more at longer distances, Toby
alexm
It's the pellet weight. 1 grain = 0.0648 grammes Edited August 10, 2008 by alexm

milo2005
if you are running at 12 mate it will not make a great deal of difference, just et to know what pellets your barrel likes to eat lol
Biffo1262
i find the elite heavier though? You are unlikely to have a means sensitive enough to weigh a single or even a small number of pellets. I suggest you take perhaps 100 of each or indeed a whole tin of each (excluding the tin) and compare them that way using kitchen scales which should clarify the situation for you. larson
i use a heavy pellet and try to get in close for the shot. the bisley magnum is 10.6gr and with it been a heavy pellet i recon it wont blow of course as much with a wind.. i could be wrong

deejay
the waight of the pellet is in grains, now if it is a springer then you need to find a good light pellet for the rifle as a springer will fire them out a lot harder than a heavy pellet. (which is good) as the opposite with a pcp use a heavier pellet for the pcp not stupidly heavy though, dontwant them dropping out the end of the barrel.177 or 22 makes no difference really just a flatter trajectory with the 177 but a higher penetration factor.going to stop there as we could go on all day.
