Chokes? Can someone exlpain to me?

ok, i asked the same thing some time ago. its all to do with the spread of the shot. i think it goes like this. full choke means that it gives a tight spread, and then choked is a wide spread of shot. or other way round. but they regulate the patterning of the shot.

im sure one of the guys will coorect this for me. :good:

OK,

 

Invented (arguably) by Pape in 18xx they are a restriction of up 40 thou of an inch over 3" of your shotgun barrel. Ie reverse blunderbus style.

 

Full Choke 40 thou

3/4 30

1/2 20

1/4 10

Skeet 0 also known as Cylinder.

 

The use of these gives a greater % of your shot in a 30" circle @ 40yds.

 

Multi Chocke guns have the ability to "unscew the choke" and then screw in a new choke tube. Ps some guns have variable so you can twist to tighten
