V8landy
Hi I am unsure which form of hearing protection to get. Clamp on “muff style†(no jokes), or in ear plug type. Obviously with the “muff†ones you can go for basic to £100+ electronic ones, but I will either loose, drop, damage or all three option with these. Things I don’t like about muff ones is, they make your ears sweat and are big and bulky. The there is the in ear plus, we have an endless supply of these free from work, so quite good choice. Then there are the ones at about £10 -15 which allow you to hear better, and then they go to the moulded ones which I have seen DIY versions on eBay for about £14. And then onto £100+ for moulded electronic ones. For my shooting it will mainly be rough, with the odd practice on the clays for aim. What are people’s thoughts and experiences with the above? Fatcatsplat
I've tried lots in the last couple of years - The big headphone jobbies tend to screw up my mount and the electronic ones just sound very strange. If you want the disposable plastic ones (not the foam type), I get them from screwfix and stick packets of them in my car, cabinet, gunslips etc so they are always to hand - They seem to work very well. Also, I'm guaranteed to lose them at some point, but you really don't mind so much when they cost 10p each.
