PTaylor2k4
you'd have to compare the 2 methods, in germany things are probably done different and the meat prepared differently
Rob G
Aled im not trying to cause an argument with hubertus. The way he bleeds them will do the same job as the way i do.Two methods same result. The difference is we have rules and regulations stating how we have to do it as quickly and humanly as possible. At the end of the day you want to kill the animal with as little suffering as possible. PTaylor2k4
why not shoot it in the head to kill it quicker?
Devilishdave
More than one way to skin a cat!! I beleive the reason they bleed them to death is to get the heart to pump the blood out of the body more efectively and ofcourse shooting at close range with a high velocity rifle is an accident waiting to happen with a riccochet. Hubertus
No we dont stick it because to remove the blood we do it only to save the dogs from injury. Normally they cover the boar/deer and then you cant shoot. Last year in our group we lost 2 dogs because of 2 guys who did shoot at boar while they were covered by our dogs (The . It is very very dangerous. Game and Dog move so quick that you cant take a safe shot. So the knive is the most safe way to kill the game. It is also a very traditional way of hunting. It seems probably cruel to some but hunting isnt always sunshine and if you hunt with dogs they are your comrade and you cant risk it to loose them. And without dogs you normally dont get out the boar of the thick. @Stirky: no i did shoot much more females and also much more culling bucks/stags then big ones. So dont worry. And think about: the strong of the trophy doesnt say anything. So post it! Hubertus
