jay00_3
I have the serial number of a s/h bettinsoli diamond 28"m/c sport o/u that I have recently put a deposit on. How can I tell how old it is? It does have "diamond 2001" on the engraving,as well as two birds scenes either side and a dog underneath, but wasnt sure if the 2001 was a model number? Also does this model come with a hard case,as I no the newer ones do,but the dealer only has the five chokes. Can anyone help?
JR1960
If you can find the manufacturers website email them your serial no. and they'll probably tell you all about it. I did the same with my boys I Rizzini 20 bore a few weeks ago and got a complete potted history of the gun the next day.

Does anyone no if the "diamond 2001" engraving is the model year or number to satisfy my curiosity until they reply? And has anyone else had any experience of this gun? JR1960
I'm pretty sure the Diamond 2001 is a model rather than a date, i think Harnser had one of these for sale about a year ago you could ask.
jay00_3
Yeah JR thats the feeling I got and its in great condition! It certainly doesn't look as old as an '01 Cant wait to put a few through it! Anyone any ideas about where to get the hard case? Enquiring at RUAG but will probably be out my budget from new. Hardwoods Green
Italian guns have letters stamped on the underside of the barrels when they are proofed. They are usually in a little square and read something like AU or BP. If you let me know the two letters i can date it for you no problem
