richie223
Good question! I dont know really, and i have plenty of ex military brass but still buy expensive brass??
tulkyuk
Military brass has normaly crimped around primer and bullet head and as such is harder to resize etc. Edited November 11, 2008 by tulkyuk
deershooter
Ex military brass is normally smaller inside which will increace pressure, Winchester .223 brass is quite thin and springy if you use Federal or Lapua the reloads will be more consistant due to better neck tension Lapua or Norma is the best as they drill the primer hole and dont punch it out Deershooter
Harnser
Dont know about 223 military brass ,but all the 7.62 / 308 brass was berdan primed and not boxer primed ,making it more difficult and fiddly to load . Harnser .
TheHunter
Bunnybasher100 In reply to the question, both Norma and Lapua are excellent brass and in my opinion better than the Winchester you currently using because the brass around the mouth of the cartridge is slightly thicker and more uniformed, basically a better quality of manufacturing. So I think the choice you have to make will be based on price, the Norma are usually a few £ more so Lapua seems the logical way to go but always keep you eye open for the Norma at a bargain price. Hope this helps Edited November 25, 2008 by TheHunter
