MartinKent
Hello, I always get confused on this matter. Do I need a FAC to own a 177 Air Rifle? My answer would be no as its under 12bls. But then if I wanted to take my air rifle from my house and go and shoot on my uncles farm in devon would I need a FAC? I am just thinking what would happen if I got stopped by the police with an air gun in my boot??
Evil Elvis
Not at all, unless its over 12ftlbs or you are under 17, as long as the magazine isnt in the gun and its not loaded its perfectly legal.

njc110381
There's no need to be nervous, you're perfectly legal as long as the gun isn't loaded (including any magazine not attatched to the gun just to be safe). I'm not sure how the police decide what's allowed, as they often charge people for carrying airguns. I guess if you have a bag of weed in the car and wear a chav hat and a hoodie they may be a little less reasonable with you
