410PHIL
Hi folks. I have had this 410 for a while now and have never really been happy with the state of the woodwork . You know how it is the stock was full of dints and it was finished in about 3 inches of varnish and lacquer so I decided to try and tidy it up a bit. I didn't even pass GCSE woodwork so it was a bit daunting, but I am pretty happy with the result
Cranfield
That looks OK, now time for the TruOil.
410PHIL
Like I said I am no woodwork expert so hands up I have no idea what Tru Oil is I have being using danish oil on it so far what will tru oil do ?
Cranfield
TruOil will protect the wood and bring out the grain. I have no experience of danish oil, it may well do the same.

Harnser
Lots and lots of boiled linseed oil rubbed in with the palm of the hand . Let it dry between coats . Just a very small amount each coat . Keep rubbing untill you feel the friction on the palm of your hand . After a few coats rub down with very lightly with 00 wire wool and oil again untill you get the finish you want . Good luck . Harnser . Choked
It depends on the finish that you want. TruOil will give a glossy finish. I use CCL, which is a linsead based oil and gives a matt finish. Either way, as Harnser said, little at a time, and when you feel the grain when you run your hand over it, 00 grade wire wool, then more oil.
