ANDYD
Has anyone used this place for practice? If so what sort of price, I have been told they charge per clay ? Andy
Dunkield
I met a guy the other day that went there and said he had a good time, but you have to use their cartridges. They use claymate http://www.lainsshootingschool.co.uk/practice.htm

Cushat
They have an issue with noise and planning, hence you need to use their cartridges. Nice ground, not bad layout but a bit easy (although some of the high tower birds down in the pit are a bit testing). It's a sporting layout with a range of fixed stands, and also a couple of flush stands where there are 3-6 traps set up and you can have random clays thrown at you. Depends what you're after but a great place to build a bit of confidence or practice a particular type of target.
Dunkield
I am staying down that way over Christmas so may give it a go, or we may drive a bit do a 100 birder somewhere else - we will see. I assume their cartridges are low noise?

They're not subsonic but a bit slower than normal apparently. Saying that, they use Hull Pro Fibre for 20b which are just a standard cartridge. I think the issue is that they've done noise assessments with a particular brand of cartridge and can't risk being in breach of planning permission as they were nearly shut down a year or two ago. They have had to lower all of the stands so you shoot below ground level and their own cartridges are very, very soft and slow. I have taken a couple of mates there who have wanted to have a go but that would be the only reason I would go there. It was one woman that complained about the noise and she has now moved away from the area.
