Trussman
You'll be fine as long as you don't use a slug that's longer than your gun's chamber. Also, don't use too much choke. Slugs can be a hit and miss at long range. Check out the Boar hunting pictures in the sporting pictures section.

neil smith
Shooting slug through a standard 500 barrel is ok, I have used them in full choke guns & some slugs are actually designed for use in full choke barrels. Accuracy varies greatly, remington reduced recoil slug seem to work well in most barrels & Brenneke are always the most accurate, sellier & bellot are a good balance with regard to cost v accuracy, they come in 28g & 32g loads. have a good trip. spade13
thank you for the info. i think ill stick to the 28g slugs when im there. im sure the guys im going with will be shocked when i go telling them which slugs are better for my shotgun haha cant wait to see their faces. one last thing is the powder the same weight in a 28g shot shell as in a 28g slug? what with one being a solid lead block ?
