Taff Mason
hi darren, i had a brilliant day sunday, got 37 over my new magnet. when i got to the field and looked over the hedgerow there were hundreds on there. the closer i got they would just lift off and move 30-40 yards away so i new they wanted to stay on this field. i shot 3 as they all took off and put them out in the pattern and one on a bouncer. i just put a random pattern out around the magnet. it wasn't long before they were moving back to the field an coming straight into the decoys in groups of about 10. the was another lad roost shooting so the birds were moving all day. beating saturday was good too. i think the bag was 71 pheasants and 20 partridge. even a couple of english partridge in there. thats the best bag we've had there. Taff Mason
yeah mate it was definately worth buying the magnet, the only problem is it seems a bit slow. i don't know wether there's something wrong with it or not! im going to ask the farmer if i can get up there early next week. don't know wether he'll go for it hough because he likes me to stop by the yard before i go shooting. you too mate, have a great xmas and new year and i'll see you in january. is santa bringing you any pigeon shooting kit this year? nickwrxstiv2
I'm a newbie at this so I've got a few questions - 1.) Where do you set out your 'V' pattern of decoys? Do you have to stand on the crops and do it at the edge of the field? 2.) I know my farmer has got rape but how can I identify it? The fields are just starting to sprout. I'd ask the farmer but he's not really a peoples person! Thanks
