Carbonrocket
Hello all, I would really like to add a bipod to my S410. Anyone that has done this, how did you do it? Mine is a Carbine with silencer. Help please as I am a bit shakey at 35 m.. Thanks Kent Edited December 26, 2008 by Carbonrocket
Erik Hamburger
Hi, I recommend you buy a Harris 9"-13" SLM - they are available around £65-£70 Excellent engineered piece of kit. Note you do need to fit a QD stud to the rifle first. You can get cheaper bipods but as they will not last they are actually more expensive. Carbonrocket
Thanks for that guys, Is fitting a QD stud a simple method of just removing the stock and some drilling?
big andy
You are best off using a pillar drill if you have one....I have made a few expensive mistakes so all mine now go to a gunsmith...Andy..

Agree 100%, exactly what I have on my S410. edit - Make sure when you drill the stock to fit the stud that the entire 'platform' of the bipod that sits on the rifle lies flat agaisnt the stock and dosent 'bridge' across the curved end of the stock Edited December 29, 2008 by Munst

smsguitarist
Take Andy`s advice and get a gunsmith to drill your stud holes for you if your not sure. I agree with these guys. I did mine first time and it pulled out as i'm not too good with the old wood stuff! Had to fill the hole with No More Nails and shove it back in. Works now mind you but i'm going to be forever disappointed Lewis
Ferret Master
Mine came with the stud, just get a harris 9-13 dont worry about the variable ones Steve I beg to differ... The standard non-swivel models are fine for benchrest shooting but for hunting if you find yourself on ground that is anything other than completely level your rifle will be canted off to one side. I took mine to local gunsmith, as i just recived a custom stock for my s10k, only took him 20 mins but he had all correct tools ( and a steady hand ha ha ) only £20 with qd an swivels well worth it
