Badgerpig
Hello Ive had my first gun (Rizzini 12g L/H U/O) about a month/6 weeks and fired about 300 carts through it , I bought it second hand from RFD, and was really chuffed as it seemed to be spot on at first. maybe I didnt notice it at first but Ive noticed the last couple of trips when I break it to reload it doesnt quite seem to open fully unaided which means I have to hold it fully open to get the bottom cartridge in also the top ejector started periodically sticking today, Ive bought a Bisley rod cleaning kit and a snake and Ive oiled it and cleaned it thoroughly every time Ive used it, its not stopping me using it but its annoying because its not "perfect", as a new shooter Im not sure if these are common trouble, that are easily fixed or if I should contact RFD (warranty was never mentioned) or send to a gunsmith? Any ideas? Thanks in advance Ian
peter-peter
sometimes o/u's don't open fully when braking. just put the barrel on your toe and press down on the butt to open to insert both carts clean the ejector mechanism and dont over oil just wipe it dry. rizzinies arn't top range guns but they are ok. Nial
What about a small smear of gun grease on the bits where there's friction when you open the gun? Nial.
TheHunter
There is nothing wrong with a OU which doesn't open fully, it is a sign that the action is nice and tight. It will loosen after a 3 or 4 thousand rounds. If you really want it to open fully every time use a little automotive valve grinding paste on the pin until it is free. I would recommend you don't. The only time i have had too was for young shooter who didn't have the muscle to open his new 20bore and his efforts to open and close the weapon were a safety issue. As for the ejectors, have you taken the ejectors apart and cleaned them? rather than a oil and wipe while assembled. I haven't cleaned a Razzini so i don't know if they are as easy as Beretta's. Hope this helps TheHunter
