Boomstick
Hello all! After years of enjoying rifle shooting and aigunning I finally had a go at clay pigeon. I love it, and have been going to a club as a guest for a good few months now. Anyway, as much as I love sporting clays, I love going after quarry more.... it's tastier! So, I am looking for a gun that can bust the clays and also do the business in the field. Is this a stupid idea looking for such a 'holy grail' shotgun? Should I be getting a specialist gun for each discipline? The guns I am currently considering are: Any 68 series beretta (that i can afford!) Browning 525 Miroku MK70 Benelli Montefeltro (but to be honest i'm not sure i could put up with 10,000 people a day asking 'is it safe?' Please help me decide! Cheers
Baldrick
Had them all, and kept them all except the Benelli. I would say that the Miroku comes top of the pile for versatility and value. Miroku/Browning make a very different gun from Beretta. I prefer the bulk of the former. If budget allows, look at a Blaser F3.
Boomstick
Thanks baldrick. Confirms my suspicion that the miroku may well be the way forward. Will look into the blaser.
CEREALTHRILLER
Miroku Mk38
Trussman
I'd look at the Mk60. Simple quality. I'm not really a OU fan, but if I were ever to get one, this would be my choice.
Boomstick
Thanks for the input thus far guys... So miroku then Which MK and why?
Trussman
Mk60 because it's fixed choke, will do you fine for all clay and field shooting with the exception of high driven birds and trap, and will last you a life time.
pair away
ive got a mk70 and im very pleased with it , but if i was buying again i would go for the mk38 sporter , a mate has one and in my opinion its a better gun .
