M800
hi i am on the look out for a shotgun suitable for an 11 year old lad, 20g semi hatsan maybe or 20g/410 over under single trigger £200 budget, face to face doncaster area preferred or would consider rfd to rfd would be used for fun on the clay range mostly thanks
bruno22rf
I would give the .410 a miss if i were you-they are normally full choked and expensive to feed-your lad is more likely to get fed up if he has such a disadvantage-go for the 20g- semi auto if you can. M800
ok thanks for the advice... he has shot both 410 and 20 with success but i agree the 20 would be more suitable and last him till he is old enough to use a 12 bore Edited February 4, 2009 by M800
Fuji Shooter
My lad started off with a brand new Hatsan 20g auto - he put a box of carts through it sad "this is a load of rubbish" and promptly sold it the next day. You can get an older 12G fairly cheap and just lop the back end off. All of the smaller kids down our club do this now and when you are finished with it you can normally sell it on for more than you paid for it. Agree to give the .410 a miss unless like the lads at our club you are so good at skeet it makes it more fun!! (too expensive to peddle)
