lister1
i've started to re oil my stock it's had three coates now but hasn't fully cured. i had to use it at the weekend and i've managed to put a small dent in it. my question is....... is it too late to iron and steam out the dent or should i let the oil cure first. cheers lister
seb
I would just steam it out now then repair the oil finish if it needs it. The steam might damage the finish anyway and need touching up even if you let it cure.
macca
For the steam to lift the ding out, it has to penetrate into the timber, the new oil may prevent this, you may have to remove the oil from the area you wish to repair.
